Storm A, Sr. is mentioned in the History of Greene Co., p. 367, 370. Albert (b. 1743), with his brother Cornelius, bought a large area of land in 1773 from John and Anna Barclay, their share of the estate of Peter Coeymans. The entire village of New Baltimore stands on this tract.

An abstract of the will of Catharine Van Slyck Van Derzee, d. 1832, lists as next of kin: son Andrew A. dec'd, [children of Andrew] Catharine, wife of Baltus Van Slyke; Magdalene (Rachel Magdalene?); Mary; Albert; Martin; Elizabeth; a daughter Elizabeth, wife of Thomas C Houghtaling; a son Storm A, whose children are Catharine, Elizabeth, Jane, Storm A, Rachel, Blanche and Albert.

Storm Van der Zee and family listed in Freemont, Winona Co., MN census. Lists parents; children: Susan, Amelia, Delia, Mary, Romance, Clarence.
Clara Knapp said that they were related to the Vanderbilts out east, not verified as of yet, as her grandmother who raised her was a Parcher. Storms mother was a Laura Van der Bilt verified records.
Since residents of Northern Vermont and the border counties of Quebec had mostly ignored the War of 1812 because of "family ties", perhaps the Vermonters were not opposed when they made such moves.
1855 Census WI Waukesha Co., lists family on page 3 for Mukwonago Township or Town.

Sarah was a school teacher in Wisconsin and New York. Two notes say her maiden name was Parker, as best I can read it. Date of death disagrees with Zeldas records 1822-1912. ? Unsure. Paul Roy KNapps lists death date as 3 1912 at Souix Pass, Montana. Death date given to Roy by Amelia Ellis.
I HAVE A PARCHER BOOK FROM WHEN THE FIRST PARCHER CAME TO AMERICA. IN IT IT HAS A DAVID PARCHER AND SUSANNAH DARLING, BOTH BURIED IN WATERBURY CENTER CEMETARY. DAVID WAS BORN 1795, DIED 16 MARCH 1843, HE GOT MARRIED ON 7 APR 1816. THEY HAD TWO CHILDREN:

Amelia, the child of Storm and Sarah Van Der Zee told Helen Busbey Martin, " Don't forget you're related to the Van Der Builts." Helen was my great aunt, or my dads aunt, sister to Zelda Maude (Busby) Lampman. I spoke with Helen before she passed away several years ago. She talked of the all of the people of the Winona Co. area.

Hiram got pneumonia at age 31 and died. The next year Mary was washing clothes in a drafty back shed, got chilled, got pneumonia and died at age 24. So Storm and Sarah Van Der Zee brought up their two children, Arthur and Clara. Hiram was a carpenter.

After Clara's first husband Fred Busbey died, she married her first cousin Amos Knapp with special permission. Amos lived in White Bear Lake, MN. He worked for the Great Northern Railway for 45 years. He had all of his savings in the People's Bank in White Bear Lake and lost it all when the bank went broke in the 1930 depression. They attended the Congregational Church in St. Paul, MN and worked in the mission downtown also.
Dale Lampman remembers Amos and Clara as always driving a motorcyle to work and to Porcupine even in the coldest of weather with a side car. Have a picture of them.
After Amos died, Clara went and lived with Zelda and Claude Lampman on Columbia Heights. Judson Livingston lived on the other half of the house.

Amos worked all his life for the railroad in St.Paul, during the depression, he lost all of his money that he had saved in a bank. Dale Lampman speaks of Amos and Clara Knapp as always riding in a motorcyle with a sidecar on it to Wisconsin, even in the middle of winter. Amos and Clara were first cousins, as Amos W. Knapp's father was Jessie R. Knapp and Clara's father was Hiram Jasper Knapp who were brothers.

Harrison, Maine: Arthur S. Knapp 87, died Monday evening at his South Harrison home. He was born in Enterprise, Minn., November 7, 1877 son of Hiram and Mary (Vanderzee) Knapp. He was employed for many years by the Lynn, Mass, Gas and Electric Co. then by the Bay State Railroad Co. He moved here
following his retirement in 1948. He was a member of the Saco River Valley Grange. Surving are one son Arthur R. of Harrison; one daughter, Mrs. Jennie William of Cherry Valley, R.I.; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 Friday at 8 Elm Street, Bridgton. Elder David Shaw of West Paris officated and interment was in the Harrison Village Cemetery.

Harrison-- Arthur Dick Knapp, 90, died Oct. 22 at a local nursing home. He was born in Lynn, MA., a son of Arthur and Jessie (Allen) Knapp and attended Lynn schools.
Mr. Knapp was a longtime employee of the State of Maine Dept. of Transportation. He worked on roads in all parts of the state. He also worked for the Harrison highway department and at Joe Day's Saw Mill in Harrison. He retired in 1972. He served in the army during World War II. His wife the former Maude H. Law-Smith, died in 1963. He is survived by a sister, Jessie K. William of Providence, R.I. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Raymond Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Bridgton. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8pm.
Per letter from the Harrison Historical Society; The house that Arthur Dick Knapp lived in was from the 1840's, on Edes Falls Road in South Harrison. In later years it became dilapitated and was burnt on 10/31/1993 by the Fire Dept. as a a training exercise. (Mary T. Carlson, Curator)
